Fat
dissolving Injections
Removing superfluous body fat by means of an injection
was a fascinating concept
brought into reality by
South-American dermatologist Dr. Rittes.
In 1995, Dr. Rittes
developed the procedure
'injection lipolysis'
in
which
the substance phosphatidylcholine
(PPT) is injected directly
into undesired fat deposits.
The active substance in the
fat dissolving injection is a
soya-bean extract that is
similar to
a substance naturally
produced in the body to aid
metabolism. The fat dissolving injection contains no human
antigens. |
|
Fat dissolving injections are
particularly useful in eliminating fat deposits which are
particularly difficult to get rid of by continuous dieting
or exercise alone. Fat dissolving injections initiate a
process during which fat is melted away and then eliminated
from the body via normal
metabolic process. The treatment generally requires
multiple injections directly
into the area concerned.
| Areas suitable
for treatment are: |
Face |
Body |
- tear sacs
- double chin
- jowls
|
- gluteofemoral adiposity
- inner thigh
- lower buttocks / transition to thigh
- love handles
(with men)
- hips
- upper and lower belly
- fat bulges at shoulder-arm-joints
- upper arm
- knees
- dorsal areas
|
Treatment
of cellulitis - thighs
Lipoma - The
number of treatments differs from person to person, depending
upon body region and body size.
As a rule, 2
- 4 treatments in intervals of 6-8 weeks are necessary
in a complete treatment. However, more than 80% of patients are very satisfied
with the results after 2 - 3 treatments.
Risks of the Therapy
Fat reduction treatment
is similar to Neurotoxin Injection treatment in that it
is licensed only for general medical use in hospitals for
the treatment of embolism rather than in cosmetic
medicine. Absolute contraindications include treatments
during pregnancy, treatments to nursing mothers and
diabetics with micro-angiopathies. Care is taken also to
screen out people with Soya-bean allergy or serious liver
disease.
Some patients develop temporary side-effects
after treatment: these can include redness, swelling, muscle
discomfort and in some cases bruising. Swelling is
more common during facial procedures.
