IV INTERNATIONAL
SYMPOSIUM ON AESTHETIC MEDICINE in Moscow
Dr. Patrick Treacy of the Ailesbury
Clinic in Dublin was recently invited to speak on his
pioneering work on 'The usage of Fibroblasts in Aesthetic
Medicine and Acne Scarring' at the IV INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
ON AESTHETIC MEDICINE in Moscow April 19-20, 2005.
At the convention speakers from all
over the world discussed the new applications of stem
cell technology and fibroblast treatments in dermatology
and aesthetic medicine. Topics for discussion at the
convention included "The usage of autologic fibroblasts and stem cell
technology in treatment of alopecia" "The prospects of deceleration of
ageing by the methods of Embryonic Stem Cells (ESC) lines" and "Stem
cells of marrow stroma: the theoretical and practical aspects".
Dr.
Treacy has had a long interest in the emerging technology of embryonic
stem cells, although his own pioneering work has largely been in the
use of fibroblasts and high dose radiofrequency in order to reduce
wrinkle formation in ageing skin. He is presently considered a world
expert in this field being one of the few people to have treated over
200 patients to date.
