Dr Patrick J. Treacy pictured along here with Dr Jean Carruthers at an aesthetic medical conference in the summer London 2002. Dr. Carruthers is widely recognised as being the person who introduced Botox (R) to a global audience after her discovery that it took away wrinkles around the eye area. Dr. Treacy later tested it for facial blushing.

Considerations
Most wrinkles are associated with aging changes in skin.
Aging of the skin and skin structures (hair and nails)
is a natural process.
Frequent exposure to sunshine
results in premature skin wrinkling and increased
pigmentation (liver spots). It also increases the likelihood
of
skin cancer. Exposure to cigarette smoke is another
environmental factor that increases wrinkling of
the skin.
Nothing can be done to decrease the
rate of skin
aging, but many environmental factors will increase
the rate.
Common Causes
Wrinkles can develop because of:
Sun exposure
Normal aging changes in
the skin
Smoking
Treatments at Ailesbury Clinic
1)Soft
tissue dermal fillers, most commonly HA's like RestylaneR, Juvaderm or Matridur. Ailesbury also uses synthetic collagen such as Evolence or polyacrylamide like Outline. Longer term implants such as Radiesse can also help fill in the lines and creases that
appear on
our faces as we age, temporarily restoring a more smooth,
more youthful appearance. These fillers can also add
fullness to the cheeks and lips and can be used alone
or in conjunction with other resurfacing procedure such
as Microdermabrasion and laser Photorejuvenation.

2)Collagen
stimulators such as Sculptra (New-Fill) Poly-L-lactic acid work from deep within
to stimulate new collagen to smooth and firm areas of
the face and restore the skins natural elasticity. This
compound, although recently used in cosmetic medecine
has been used in plastic and reconstructive medecine
for more than 20 years. CLinical trials have shown the
effects of New-Fill can last for 1 to 2 years.

Requires 2-3 treatments
3)The MCL 30 Erbium YAG resurfacing Laser produces a unique wrinkle-reducing effect with minimal pain and rapid healing. The laser has a variable spot size leading to precise, controllable and predictable results. Risks of scarring are minimal. Its wavelength results in less heat buildup and it is less painful, has fewer side effects, and heals faster than CO2 Laser Resurfacing, As a result, this procedure is ideal for delicate skin, such as the hands and neck and fine lines and wrinkles on the face and eyes. It is also effective for treating acne scarring due to its absorption by the skin's collagen.
4)ActiiveFx CO2 resurfacing is the latest advance worldwide in the treatment of aging skin and wrinles. It is possibly the most advanced fractional laser procedure presently available and it can be performed in a single treatment with minimal patient downtime of about 4 to 5 days. During fractional treatment, only a portion of the skin's surface is treated by the laser, leaving small "bridges" of untouched skin. This technique makes the healing process much quicker and enables patients to get back to their normal life styles sooner. It is also less painful than other skin tightening RF devices . Other major benefits include the ability to use it under eyes to remove lines that Botox cannot to used to treat.
